Community

 

“For as the body is one and has many members, and the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.” (1 Cor. 12.12)

 

“The Church” is a wonderful and glorious organism. It is the incorporation of every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ that comprises the Body of Christ in the earth today. As a “body,” the church has everything necessary to accomplish all the callings and responsibilities the Lord has placed on us.

 

As a local church, Christian Assembly has a unique function and role in the ongoing expansion of the Kingdom of God.  Because of Christ, we sense a connection and partnership with all other fellowships that profess and obey the Lord Jesus.

 

Our ministry as a congregation is not that of an organization, but rather as a community of believers. We are not primarily services, schedules and balance sheets; we are faces, personalities and lives. We are a gathering of people, each with God-given gifts, talents, and callings that the Lord has brought together to honor His Name and to be a blessing and benefit to one another. We believe there is a very real inter-dependence, by God’s design, between each believer. Every one makes every other one stronger. Each is a specific member of the overall body of which Christ is the Head.

 

With this understanding as our foundation, the community of CA is a reflection of the vastness and creativity of our God. A variety of backgrounds, traditions, and cultures are reflected in the faces of our members. All joined together and offering “their part”, so that the “whole” can be healthy and accomplish the things God has called us to.
