Biblical Discipleship

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (Jn. 1.1)

The Apostle John goes on to write, “...and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” (vs.12)   There is no greater reality we can embrace than the reality of God and His love for us, expressed by the sending of His Word in the form of a man. Jesus is the full expression of the Godhead in physical form.   (Col. 1.19)

It is the acceptance of this reality that makes the written Word of God of paramount importance. It is in the Holy Bible we find the wealth of knowledge necessary to truly know God and to be able to relate to Him properly. His written Word is the “Owner’s Guide” that has been given to us, so we can operate successfully in this life.

At Christian Assembly, the Person of Jesus Christ is the centerpiece of all we do and desire, and it is this mindset that drives us to know and study His Word. We believe every Christian is called to be an active disciple of the Lord, which means every believer must be a student of the Bible. There is no other foundation on which we can build our lives. The Book of Romans teaches that our faith is dependent upon “hearing the Word of God.” (Rom. 10.17) Vibrant faith does not grow out of the soil of emotion and experience. Vibrant faith is rooted in the soil of deep devotion and pursuit of the Word of God.

By definition, a disciple is a student. CA seeks to provide relevant and effective opportunities for believers of all ages to be students of His Word. From our nursery to our senior’s ministry; from Sunday morning to our mid-week studies, the Word of God is presented and taught with authority and grace.
